Still More "Krista 2" etc;

I'm making good progress on the underpainting stage of my daughter's portrait. One of the things that's been helping is a bit of advice I picked up from Scott Waddells videos is to put down the average local color as your first stroke, and then work out from there. So I've been spending a lot of time just trying to get the hue, value, and chroma, on that average exactly right. It's a little differnt from the way that I was taught, which was to work from the shadow area up to the light. The still life "Over The Top" is almost finished. I'm having a tough time getting a good photo. the reds won't show up under daylight flourescent. I tried tricking the camera by setting it for tungsten and than doing some extensive photoshopping, but I'm still not even close. which is killing me because I worked really hard on that tablecloth and consider it one of my best fabric paintings so far. Oh well, i'll figure it out eventually (I hope).
